Establishment Purpose

  • Merging tradition with modern design, the Taiwan Hakka Museum connects Taiwan to the rest of the world. Located in the Miaoli Tongluo Science Park, Taiwan Hakka Museum was officially opened to the public on May 12, 2012. It is recognized as a research center that communicates global Hakka cultural with the industries. It serves as a platform for cultural preservation, industrial development, and tourism exchanges. The design of the park expresses the Hakka people's character with great respect for the nature. The building is a landscape architecture that demonstrates the living attitude of Hakka immigrants. The design of the building meeting the requirements of the Green Building Index (GBI) has been certified with the "Golden Level Green Building Label." The museum is a cultural facility that highlights greenness, environmental protection, energy efficiency and reduction of carbon emissions.

Department Introduction

The "Taiwan Hakka Museum" in northern Taiwan aims to become a "global Hakka research center" that has multiple functions and features including surveys of cultural heritage, research and archiving, exhibitions and exchanges, as well as tourism.
