Establishment Purpose

• The Museum aims to use visiting services such as panoramic ecology exhibits, appreciation of ecology films, operation of computer multimedia, review of conservation information, and conservation experience activities to provide educational information related to the conservation of natural resources and venues for visiting to appreciate Taiwan's wildlife and special ecosystems. In doing so, the Museum hopes to achieve nature education experience goals of fun learning, making daily life ecological, and making ecology part of daily life.

Department Introduction

For a long time, humans have yet to place any importance into the education of natural environment protection and conservation of resources, which has resulted in the abuse of natural resources, the destruction of ecologies and environments, and endangered the sustainable development of the human race. Therefore, Article 13 of the Convention on Biological Diversity requires Parties to promote and encourage understanding the importance of biodiversity conservation along with the measures required for such understanding. Such should be included within educational curricula and promoted publicly through mass communication tools to make people aware this global trend of biodiversity, along with the benefits and services that ecosystems provide to humans.
