Establishment Purpose

• The Atayal Life Museum in Datong Township of Yilan County was opened in the 2008. It is located in the area of ​​the Lunpi Community, the administrative center of Datong Township. It is surrounded by mountains, and has an elegant environment while transportation around the Museum is quite convenient. The area around the museum has characteristics exhibiting the aboriginal Atayal culture and natural landscape. The Museum preserves, maintains, collects, and researches the Atayal culture, and promotes Atayal culture by exhibiting, displaying, explaining cultural relics to achieve the inheritance, education and revitalization of the Atayal culture. The Museum regularly organizes art and cultural relics exhibitions, performances and other event throughout the year to integrate aesthetic education into tribes and life, and actively create a traditional culture and art environment for the township and its surrounding areas, so that local traditional crafts can be reproduced, traditional skills can be preserved, and inheritance of culture can be realized.
