Establishment Purpose

  • Upon the vision “Yilan as a museum,” the museum is established to archive, study, display, promote and inherit local culture, in order to become the bedrock of county acculturalization and the venue for happy learning, leisure and cultural immersion of county citizens.

Department Introduction

The Lanyang Museum Park occupies a total area of 14 hectares. The main building occupies an area of 7,681m2. Equipped with a permanent exhibition, special exhibition and kid’s land, the Lanyang Museum is Taiwan’s first integrated museum displaying the diversity of local culture, history and ecosystems upon a local theme: Yilan. Through research and collection, demonstration and education, public services and environmental protection, it aims to shape a dynamic venue folklore education.
