Yo-Chang Art Museum

  • Yo-Chang Art Museum

Establishment Purpose

  • Based on the “museum group” concept, apart from the main building, the Yo-Chang Art Museum has included the former staff hall of the National Overseas Chinese Senior High School in the north to turn local memories part of the elements for art exhibition planning and creation practice. In collection and research development, the Yo-Chang Art Museum sets innovative, in-depth and interdisciplinary exhibitions as the focus of development and collects wonder works of past outstanding teaching staff and students. In recent years, it has expanded the range of collection to new media works. In addition, the museum actively implements the documentation and collection digitization program, hoping to develop the subject matter of Taiwan art development by linking contemporary arts, exhibition planning, and theories. In education promotion, apart from administering five exhibition spaces in the school for exhibitions by application, the museum allows teachers and students to plan and implement exhibitions independently for practice. Besides sharing the museum’s art education resources, the museum arranges forums, workshops, and guided tours for exhibitions and promotes art education on and off the campus to professional art groups, residents around the campus, and the public through the internet and social media. In the future, the museum will continue to strive for industrial and government resources and enhance cooperation and alliance with art institutions based on own experience and through horizontal (cross-sector) integration with the school’s internal resources. Furthermore, the museum will endeavor to become a cross-community, cross-discipline, and cross-culture art platform to expand the contemporary, innovative and futuristic vision of university museums.

Department Introduction

In addition, as a development base for invigorating research and creation, the Yo-Chang Art Museum actively strives for the support of industrial and government resources and continuously enhance alliance and cooperation with related art institutions, in order to become a cross-community, cross-disciplinary, cross-culture and cross-border exchange platform.
