Department Introduction
To “collect” and to “archive” government and civilian files and historical sources are the major functions of the Hsinchu County Archive. Integrating the concept of “Hakka Round House” and “Compound House” designs, the museum space is designed under six major themes: document reading, archive center, exhibition space, research and restoration, administration, and service. At the Archive’s reception hall, visitors can see the past, understand the present, and consider the future. In addition to being a center for folklore education and research, the Archive forms a Hakka golden triangle for promoting traditional Hakka spirit alongside with the Yimin Temple and College of Hakka Studies, National Chiao Tung University.
