Establishment Purpose

• Opened on February 25, 2000, the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium (NMMBA) was outsourced for operations to Hi-Scene World Enterprise (Hi-Scene) on July 4, 2000 according to the government’s private participation encouragement and outsourcing policy. Hi-Scene also constructed other NMMBA facilities, including the Waters of the World Hall and the Visitor Center, making the NMMBA the first example of private participation in the operations and construction of cultural and educational facility in Taiwan.
