Establishment Purpose

• Built alongside the mountain slope and looking over the Guandu Plain, the KdMoFA is Taiwan’s first art museum on a university campus. With one story underground and five stories aboveground, the museum is consisted of nine exhibition galleries. Combing the indoor and outdoor exhibition space, the total exhibition area is 2,380m2. Besides being spacious and comfortable, it is a contemporary art piece in itself. Breaking out of traditional proportional constraints, the design of the museum has adopted an incongruent style to create a sense of movement imbued with interesting possibilities. Viewers amidst the art works will fully appreciate that “art is not far away as it is an experience which stays within the corners of the heart.”

Department Introduction

It needs supports for long-term promotion of exhibitions for an art museum to gain popularity and acknowledgement. That is, to present great art works in a quality space. Although the museum space is limited, the possibility of development is unlimited Therefore, how to plan an exhibition is the key. Unlike an ordinary art museum, KdMoFA is located on the campus of the Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA), enjoying rich academic resources. The KdMoFA can be the first real-life environment for undergraduate teaching and learning, as well as the first research ground for doctorate and postgraduate thesis. These advantages will add vitality to the teaching content, stimulate inspirations and refresh creative energy.
