Establishment Purpose

• The Center of Old Fengshan City History is a phased achievement of the Old Fengshan City Renovation Program. It was opened on March 3rd, 2018, and is the first exhibition hall in Taiwan that uses crossover technological interaction and combined light sculpture projections. It provides a brand-new 8-minute tour of the thousand-year-old history of the Old Fengshan City, offering a brand-new perspective of viewing the Old City of Zuoying. The exhibition space on the 1st floor has the technological AR interactive device installation design of "Travel through Time and Space to see the Old City" and the VR device "Our Old City" on the 2nd floor, which provide brand new interpretations to recreate the old city and its history. Visitors get to experience the Old City in the present day through a 3D interactive real-life experience across ancient and modern times as they travel through time and space to visit the Old City. In addition, there is a series of 19 animated films recording significant events to depict the 300-year history of the Twin Cities of Fengshan.

Department Introduction

The establishment of The Center of Old Fengshan City History is a testament to the goal of "Connecting the Past and Present to walk the streets of the Old City," and has made "Passing through Space and Time to see the Old City" possible. It has also used audio-visual technology to allow people to experience the flow and changes throughout history, and the Center also serves as a lifelong learning area for families. In the future, the Center will also continue to locally promote the history and culture of the Old City of Zuoying, organize even more brilliant local activities and exhibitions, and enhance the connection of memories between the land and the people. The Center will hopefully get closer to the everyday lives of the locals and inheritance of the culture, which will allow the history of the Old City to be live on, the cultural assets can become a part of peoples' lives, and connect people’s emotions.
