In the Wufeng Township lies the community of aboriginal people. Wufeng Township is surrounded by mountains. The strategy of controlling the aborigines were executed during the Japanese occupied period. The Wufeng Township then was a special administrative region governed by the police authorities, and 2 field operation areas (Jingshang and Shibaer), 18 police stations were established in Wufeng, responsible for the education, health affairs and police services. 1 township and 4 villages (Da’ai, Taoshan, Huayuan, Zhulin) were later established in Wufeng according to the autonomous administrative regulations on April 1, 1946.
