In view of the increasing migrants in the world, the United Nations proclaimed 18th December International Migrants Day in 2000. In Taiwan, the number of immigrants has reached 650,000 people in 2017. The social structure is changing and so is our daily life. The migrants and foreign residents in Taiwan have undoubtedly brought in new food, fashion, languages, habits, knowledge, and enriched our culture.  To celebrate and embrace these new ideas, we have organized an invited speech on insect-eating culture and two small forums with exciting topics! Invited Speech: Edible Insects Around the World (1) Time:14:00-15:00 p.m. (3) Abstract: Insects are increasingly seen as the future of meat: their carbon footprint and land and water requirements are much lower than for traditional livestock. Eating insects is not new, but nor is it primitive: insects are eaten around the world, in various forms by various people for various reasons. We present a global tour of edible insect culture, from traditional to modern, to see what the future of food might hold. Mini Forum: Is pocket money also required as a wedding gift in other countries? Besides pocket money, people around the world are actually celebrating in a wide variety of ways. Come to find out what are the special traditions you might never think of next Sunday December 16 with some of the NTM international docents! (5) Language:In Mandarin; English interpretation provided. Mini Forum: Why cultural shock is good for you. (1) Time:16:00-17:00 (2) Speakers:Elisa (Italy), Nanako (Japan), Emily (USA), Janet (South Korea) (3) Host:Vivi (4) Abstract: The word “shock” may scare you away but don’t be frightened to find out why this type of shock is actually good for you. Come discover what cultural shock is and how to embrace it next Sunday December 16 with some of the NTM international docents! Get to know our docents and why cultural shock is good for you with these topics: 1.Define cultural shock!  2.What did you find most difficult transitioning into?  3.How did you deal with it?  4.
